F.A.Q.

Some Frequently Asked Questions:

Are you a Model Agency?

NO. We are a register of models and new faces looking for work, and also a register of photographers looking for new models. We are paid by the photographers to find models and locations for special assignments for them.

Do you charge for test shots or other services?

NO! Under no circumstances should you sign to join any agency that charges you for test shots, model portfolios, books, clothing, or any modeling courses or advise.

Do you charge models a commission?

NO! The price you are offered for any photographic modeling work is the price you will receive from the photographer. We do not deduct any commission, fees or other costs from you. You get 100% of the money you are offered for the shoot.

Are you looking for male or female models?:

We are looking mainly for female models, between the ages of 18 and 24 years, as this is who we have the majority of requests for.

We also have some requests for male models, mainly for nude art and nude erotic work, but this is not our speciality.

Is there a minimum height to become a model?:

For catwalk and runway modeling, there is usually a minimum height requirement. However, as we look only for photographic models, and there is no height requirement.

However, in reality, for fashion and swimwear most models selected for work are around 170cms. For lingerie and glamour model work any height is acceptable, provided your body measurements are in good proportion.

Do I need to have had some experience?

No. In fact, most of our photographers like to work with "New Faces", models who have not worked in front of the camera before.
Guidance and training is provided free of charge to all new models before a shoot.

What are the main things you look for in selecting a model?

A good figure, in proportion to your height is important. So is having good teeth, skin and hair. Preferably hair of natural, not dyed, colour.

Our photographers usually prefer the "natural" look, and therefore models with large or prominent tattoos, facial piercings and unusually coloured hair are not so much in demand.

To get repeat work from photographers, we find that a pleasant personality, professional attitude to time-keeping and working well on the set all help to get more work from the same photographers.

What happens when I register with I.M.R. ?:

We enter all of your data into our large data base of models world-wide. When a photographer asks us to find models in a particular country, for a particular shoot, we then offer to the photographer all the models we have in that area, who meet their requirements.

If a photographer is interested in working with you, from seeing your data and photos we show him, we will contact you to arrange a meeting.

If a photographer you work with is interested in me, is it guaranteed that I will get a job?

Usually, the photographer will consider more than one model for each job.

You will probably be invited to attend an audition or "casting" for the job, in your home city or a city in the country where you live.

What happens at an audition?

First, some snapshots of you, wearing normal clothes, will be taken so that the photographer can see how you look through the camera.

Then, you will undress and your full measurements will be taken. A body check will be made to check your body shape, your skin, hair and teeth quality.

If the photographer is satisfied that you may be suitable, then he will probably make a short "test session" of photos of you, in the different modeling styles you have indicated you are interested in, or possibly interested in.

If, at the end of the test session, the photographer is satisfied with you, and if you like working in the styles of the test session, the photographer will discuss the opportunities for paid work available to you.

Will I get paid for the "Test Session"?

No. The test session is to see how you behave in front of the camera, if the photographer likes your "look", and if you and the photographer are happy working together.

Normally, as models making a test have little or no experience at modeling, the photos and videos from the test session are not of good enough quality to earn money.

How soon after the audition will I get offered work?

Usually, if the photographer wants to work with you, he will offer you work at the audition, for a time and date in the very near future that is suitable to both of you.

Occasionally, the work could be at the same time as the audition, if you both have time available.

When will I get paid?

We make sure that all our models receive payment, in cash, in the currency of the country where the shoot takes place, or in US$, on the same day that the shoot is finished. (For example,if the shoot is for three days, at a rate of US$150 a day, you will receive US$450 from the photographer as soon as the last day of the shoot is over.)
